DESCRIPTION:<p><br />Leeds University lecturers will be going out on stri
 ke on the 25th of February to save jobs and to defend the high standard 
 of education on offer at Leeds. Students will not have any lectures that
  day\, but we encourage as many students\, workers and other citizens of
  Leeds to come down to the Parkinson steps at 12pm noon to protest again
 st the devastating &pound\;35m cuts that threaten 700 jobs at Leeds.<br 
 /><br />We need to stand together to defeat these cuts\, and to send a m
 essage to the Vice-Chancellor\, and to Peter Mandelson and the rest of t
 he government that they will not stand by as education and other public 
 services are cuts.</p>
